I hope it’s your very best yet! I’m wishing you the best of everything you want. Oh and there’s some news …
From my home to yours
I hope you’re all free to have exactly the new year you want. Whether that’s wild partying, family fun or peacefully curled up for some me-time with a good book and a mug or glass of something tasty to welcome in the new year.
My new year gift to myself is that Book 3 of the Midlife Recorder series, Ties that Bond in Gretna Green is now with my editor and will be ready for the eBook’s February 9th launch.
The paperback will follow a day or two later. Sorry it’s out of my hands. It’s an Amazon thing. We can’t schedule the paperback the same way we can with the eBook.
None of this was planned
I’m amazed this book exists. I knew there would be a longer gap than readers might like between Blues and Red and Yellow. Mostly because I needed to write Red and Yellow together (more about that next time).
So I came up with cunning plan à la Baldrick in Blackadder 😂
I’d write a short Valentine novella and release it February so that it didn’t feel such a long wait for everyone between books 2 and 3.
But then the Hobs grabbed me by the heart and then were some prophecies and a hair cut and some hunky men and general shenanigans and then Autumn wanted to come and visit and then the unicorns arrived and …
… and before I could blink it had turned into a more than full-length book. It’s almost the same length as Painting the Blues and much longer than Midlife in Gretna Green. I’m guessing that the universe thought that February is a time when people need some light-hearted fun. Perhaps it also agrees with Breanna who, you may remember, loathes February and thinks it should be struck from the calendar.
I’m just really hoping everyone enjoys it and doesn’t think I’ve lost my mind!
The UK pre-order is here if you want it.
And the USA pre-order is here
And my Australian readers who prefer the pre-order link on the .au site can click here
The price is reduced for pre-orders but will go up the day after publication.
It will still be free for KU subscribers, of course. I’m always going to look after my KU girls because I’m such a huge fan of it myself! 😊
Final Cover reveal
We had to put a temporary cover up on Amazon for the pre-order.
But now Ties has its final gorgeous cover. In all its rainbow glory.
Well, I think it’s gorgeous and perfect for this unexpected book which includes almost all the realms as Niki verifies (or doesn’t) their soul bonds.
Thanks to my amazing cover designer Axe. (He does the Rhianna thing and doesn’t acknowledge having a surname – but he is extremely talented.) 😊
Newsletter
There was quite a lot more news in my newsletter which went out just before Christmas and the next one will be out in Mid-January.
Honestly I save the best bits for my subscribers mostly because I feel they’re the people who really want to know what’s happening. As far as my website stats show me most people pop here to look up something specific and don’t want to be bogged down in a lot of words. Now if that’s wrong feel free to let me know that.
But if you like all the news which comes out once a month and includes:
Snippets from my work in progress,
Personal updates, including silly Tilly/Lucy photos
Writing progress,
Recipes from the books,
Book news,
Bonus epilogues and out-takes,
And anything else that made me laugh or awwwww.
Like this heart melt moment for one little girl at her Christmas concert
Then make sure you’re subscribed to my newsletter and have added the sent-from email address on that to your contacts so that you’ll get it monthly.
Until Next Time
I’m going back to work on Seeing Red in Gretna Green and no, I don’t have a publication date yet and won’t until the summer – I’ll explain why in the next newsletter.
Much love
Linzi
