It’s almost here! 🎉
Half an Orange in Gretna Green
I can’t tell you how excited I am that Half an Orange in Gretna Green is finally ready to meet you!
It’s been a LONG time coming, and I really hope you’ll think it was worth the wait.
At a massive 770 pages, there’s certainly plenty to get your teeth into.
Although I know some of you will still have it all read in a day or two (I’m looking at you, Voracious Readers!)
Also, Happy Halloween 🎃 with all the orange pumpkins.

The Orange Realm awaits you
We’re off to the beautiful realm of Galicia, a land of golden sunsets, sun-drenched hills and ancient traditions. But beneath that breathtaking beauty, something is profoundly broken. There are secrets to uncover, trouble ahead for some of our favourite (and least favourite) characters, and a few surprises along the way. I can’t wait to hear what you think!
Half an Orange in Gretna Green is available as an ebook, paperback and in Kindle+ (the new name for Kindle Unlimited).
You have already read Spilling the Tea in Gretna Green—haven’t you?

For those of you planning to dive straight into Half an Orange.
The first chapter of Orange continues the day after Spilling the Tea ends.
You really need to have read Tea to enjoy Orange.
Even if you have, a quick re-read of at least Secrets of the Dead, The Blade Queen and The Valkyries Are Flying, from Spilling the Tea, might be a great idea.
The events of those long novellas which take place after Market Forces are referenced immediately in Half an Orange.
It’s available as an ebook, paperback or in Kindle+.
You can find Spilling the Tea in Gretna Green here on Amazon.

“I laughed and snorted and smiled
and ugly cried.
All the feels, as they say. “
“Putting it in a drawer really worked,
This is a great book now.”
“Who is the goddess of fast writing,
so I can light a votive to her?
(Because now I need Violet too.)”

Discover the REAL Galicia
My latest newsletter (October 2026) contained lots of information from my research. Almost none of which made it into the book—because I hate info dumps. If you missed it, here’s a webpage full of some of the fascinating things I learnt along the way.

Bake a Galician Honey Cake
The most popular item in that newsletter was the recipe for Galician Honey Cake.
This did not surprise me! 😂
Intrigued to discover how the cover evolved?
It’s a strange one …
Want to know how it came about?
See the abridged (really, it was a looong process!) conversation I had with my cover designer.
